Power Jack Repair
This is one of the most common notebook repairs that we perform.  Notebooks are plugged in and unplugged often, and because they are portable, they get bumped around!  It's easy to damage the power jack.  Every time you power the computer with a damaged jack, you run the risk of further damage to other components.
 
We service all makes and models, including Mac's. 
 
What does it cost?
We will repair or replace your notebook power jack for an $80 flat fee, including parts and labor.  Some exceptions may apply, depending on parts, but the vast majority fall in the flat fee.  This fee must be paid at the time the work order is placed.  You are also responsible for shipping.
 
What does this include?
Notebook jack repair includes labor, parts (with some exceptions), and, if necessary, changing the plug on the adapter to match the new jack on the notebook.
 
What are some other possible complications?
The power jack is connected directly to the mainboard.  There is always the possibility of mainboard damage due to a "short to ground" or other issue.  We have also occasionally found that the battery or the power adapter was also damaged.  Generally, though, it's just the power jack.
 
If we find additional problems, we will stop and contact you with a status update, so that you can decide how you wish to proceed.  If you choose not to continue with the repairs, we will reduce the charge to a $60 diagnostic fee.
 
We return to you any parts of your computer that we replaced.
When you open the box and find some loose parts, don't worry!  We have already installed all of the parts needed for the repair.  We're just sending you back the original components for disposal at your convenience.
 
It might even be better than when you bought it!
Whenever possible, we reinforce the jack area, so that it has less "wiggle room" and less chance of detaching or breaking apart in the future.
  
Warranty
Our work is warranted for 90 days, except in cases of misuse or neglect.  In the event a return is needed, you are responsible for return shipping costs.  We are not responsible for damage in shipping.  Manufacturer warranty on parts varies per item.  We ask that you inspect your computer upon its return, and let us know within 7 days if there are any issues so that we can resolve them quickly and positively.  We want you to be happy with our work!
